Dear Izzy: Week 14

Dear Izzy,

Last night we rang in the New Year together with you curled up next to me in bed, your head resting on my chest as fireworks exploded throughout the neighborhood. At this time last year you  were celebrating with me as well, as you had already been growing inside of me for a couple of weeks, but I wouldn't find that out until a few days later, on January 10th. You were my New Years wish as the calendars changed from 2011 to 2012 and now as we move on to 2013 you are here in my arms. Who knew my wish would come true?

This last year your Dad and I chose to be married and welcomed you into our lives, making us both become parents for the first time. It's hard to think another year could be so eventful, but with you in our lives I think each year will be just a bit better than the last. You keep us on our toes with your strong personality, but we make a pretty good team and we try our best to give you just what you need even when we can't quite figure out what it is. I'll admit, times can get pretty tough around here when you are less than happy, but those times when you are smiling and screeching with joy are more than enough to balance out the rough days. You crack me up constantly and this week has had me laughing more than I have since you have been born. And you, you are just about to a full laugh as well, I can tell it's on the horizon and getting closer every day. And you remember how I was hoping you would learn to love the water? I don't know why I was ever worried because you are crazy for bath time these days. Looks like you are my water baby after all. And my silly girl, you are most definitely my silly girl.
