Do you know how much I love you? Oh, I don't know that you do! It's a whole awful lot and comes from a place deep in my heart that will never run dry, a place where more and more love is constantly churned out in an infinite supply just for you. Hopefully you can feel this love as I hold you close, allowing it so spill out from my pores and travel straight into yours. Does that sound pretty magical? Trust me, it is.
Even with all of that love it can be hard for me to find time to sit and write these days as you are keeping me busy. You love to sleep connected to Mama, but even that sleep is hard to come by these days as you like to fight it with all the might you have in that little bitty body of yours and if I try to get you asleep without a swaddle than I can just about count on you waking up pretty quickly. So, we went ahead and purchased swaddles of the next size up because the rate you are growing is just about as rapid as the speed you move your little fire-starter feet at when you rub them together and that's pretty fast! Don't worry, I don't think we will be swaddling you when you are five years old, but right now we are doing whatever we need to so that you will stay happy and feel safe and comfortable enough to sleep. Maybe when you are older we will just use your blanket to roll you up like a burrito, Mama likes to sleep like that too.
You are still just as silly as can be and definitely keep me laughing. Just when things get hard and the day starts to wear on me, you will surprise me with a big gummy smile or laugh and I can feel the stress fall away. You are tricky like that my sweet girl, and tricky with your fake coughs too. It is very clear too me when you are faking it or when they are real and I am sure you keep up with the fake ones just to keep me smiling, as each time you let one out I give you a sideways glance and a smirk, causing your face to light up with a smile. And oh those smiles. Your smiles are the best and lately you have been throwing a little raspberry making tongue action into the mix as well. Yes, very silly my dearest little gal, as silly as they come I am sure.
Mama

Paisley does the fake coughs too! So funny. And she has those same socks. :) Just picked them up from Target since she outgrew all her teeny baby ones. Hope you guys are getting some sleep over there. :)
ReplyDeleteOh that third pic is great! I feel like she is trying to say "you rock mom"
ReplyDeleteWe're still bigtime swaddlers around here, too. Whatever it takes to get some sleep!
ReplyDeleteOh, Sara! How can she get any cuter? And yes, swaddle if it works! I am a big advocate of do-what-works. I love the image of her fire-starter feet rubbing together. What a feisty little lady!
ReplyDeleteIt's hilarious! Oh yeah, someone gave us these socks, but we saw them at Target the other day and they have the same ones in progressively bigger sizes. E says we have to get them all so it looks like she's wearing the same socks forever. Sleep? HA! Well, really, it happens, but today was the worst sleep in all history I think. Whoever says "sleeping like a baby" like it's a good thing hasn't met my little goober. I don't wish that kind of sleep on folks! :)
ReplyDeleteHa! That's a good way to think of it. :) She's so funny.
ReplyDeleteYes, we aren't alone! Only problem is Izzy is so tall and keeps growing out of the swaddle contraptions and if we just use a blanket she always breaks free. You better believe I'll figure something out though, can't have that kid sleeping any less!
ReplyDeleteI don't know how, but she does seem to keep upping the cute factor, doesn't she? Yes on the doing what works, there's no other way. There are some things I never thought I'd do until she showed up and wham bam there I go doing it, but I'm 100% okay with that. :)
ReplyDeleteAlso, the word feisty fits her perfectly. :)
