Dear Izzy: Week 45
Dear Izzy Bug,
Mama is head over heals in love with you. You make me so happy to be a mom each and every day. Life is very different for me now than before you were born, but I think it's so much better. By having you as my daughter I am constantly challenged to grow ever closer to the person I want to become and to live life as closely in tune with my morals and with my authentic self as I am able. I am more motivated than ever to be the best version of myself and I am thankful to you for giving me that. Right now I am taking a break from looking up sweater patterns to knit you for the winter. I had knit you up a few items before you were born, but underestimated the sizing and you weren't able to wear them all much or for long, so I am more determined than ever to see you in little hand knits from mama once the weather turns. We are going to have a wonderful time together cozying up this fall and winter. But, for now we are soaking up the last month of summer to the best of our ability and that included a fun trip to Lake Carlyle this weekend. We pitched the rain fly portion of our tent on the beach and camped out under it when we were in need of shade, lunch, nursing or naps and otherwise had fun splashing, floating, and playing in the lake. You seemed a little unsure at first as we sat you on the beach and let the waves splash on your toes, but much like your mama, you took to the water like a little tadpole and enjoyed yourself immensely. This is just one adventure of many we have had and will continue to have together.
You have also been cracking me up this week, as usual, but particularly this week as you have taken to licking everything. On Friday you made your way over to your bedroom wall and began licking it, and later the floor in the playroom, and then later the water in the lake. Oh dear. I love you and your silly self. You're awesome.
